Background context on The IMMERSE Tour: Utilizing the mediums of sound and imagery, the IMMERSE Tour showcases the harmony of universal music and motion graphics.

Living in an era of instant information accessibility, sensory overload and the virtual rather than the actual, humanity is IMMERSED in a paradox between nature and technology. Perhaps though these opposites are symbiotic and not adversarial. Thus enters KiloWatts, Aligning Minds, The Great Mundane, and Psymbolic--visuals.

Through sonic and visual wanderings, an IMMERSIVE night will take attendees on an adventure that converges at the nexus of everything, celebrating life, death and the happenings between the two. As artists choosing to incorporate, express and promote these concepts, the tour is in a position to IMMERSE others in a coordinated, impactful experience that will create a powerful ripple-effect of awareness and inspiration.

Aligning Minds presents Reality Tunnels a new mix of original tunes that was featured on Fluid Radio - a gift to all of you. This is a blend of various aspects of the Aligning Minds sound, showcasing diversity in an effort to unite.

We are starting a monthly residency at a new club in DC called "The Muse", it will be the 4'th Thursday of every month and we will be holding down the second floor while our good friends Tanc and Tiernan will be on the 3'rd floor.

PLD is a night of electronic music, focused on the Producers - Labels and DJs in the DC Met that are dedicated to putting our scene on the electronic music map and providing new sounds for our community. Each week will feature different sounds and stylings coming out of the DC area. We hope you can join us in supporting those that are pushing and promoting our city's creative scene.

True and genuine sound is what we intend to represent with this night.

We will be focusing on DEEEEEEP Tunes, not sticking to any genre we will be playing a combination of our own production, tunes from local producers that delve into the true depths of themselves, and tracks that we are currently finding inspiring. If we must spell out genres you can expect to hear stuff ranging from Dubstep, Breakbeat, Glitch Hop, Bass Love, Glitch, Techno, basically anything that carries your mind deep and takes your body deeper.

We are also working on adding some additional goodies to the night.. so stay tuned or come out to see what we have in mind. Some ideas are production seminars and lessons. If you have any ideas you would like to see happen please let us know. We are also accepting demos for those of you that would like to perform or DJ on this night.

More than just a record label, it is a multi faceted platform incorporating audio/visual event engineers, live performance visuals and a multimedia label. hello fellow human beings: We put a few new tunes up so check them out and let us know what you think!

Its been a (long) bit since we've posted any kind of news, so we'd like to fill everyone in on whats going on with our latest projects and events.

We are also working on a sample cd for Galbanum, it will be in the Abstraction series- and feature around 500 loops of glitchy / abstract beats, atmospheres, melodies and other assorted goodies.

Additionally, and perhaps the most exciting bit of news, is that we are currently working on our full album release for Aleph Zero Records, currently slated for a winter release.

Lastly, we have an extensive gig schedule lined up for the summer touring through a range of club events and outdoor festivals. Check out what we've got coming up and come share these experiences with us! We still have some dates free so hit us up if your interested in booking us for an event..

A thorough interview with Aligning Minds on DCist

Aligning Minds consists of two members; the combined efforts of producers Daniel Merrill and Michael Folk. Growing up in the relative isolation of the sparse, rural surroundings of Western Maryland, North America set the backdrop for what later became the adopted aesthetic for their music.

The lack of other avaliable and willing musicians drove them both to seek out creating music individually, initally using guitars and gradually expanding their tools with computers, synthesizers, and other digital gadgetry. Unbeknownst to each other, but living mere miles apart, they eventually discovered their shared passion for using music to stimulate the parts of the mind that couldn't seem to be reached by any other means.

Through this "alignment" and raised sense of duality, they intuitively began collaborating using electronic sound to lead their emotions to alternate destinations. Music provided a vehicle for them to travel beyond any limiting social standards (or lack thereof) and let them feel the unity and profound communication they had always felt was missing.

Beauty, relevance, and the search for human essence are the motives that have continued to drive them through their productions, always combined with the urge to share and unite through emotionally charged music.

Most importantly, the results of their work have remained the guiding light in their lives to remain in touch with themselves and each other. Even if the world did not exist beyond this resource of meaning, this would suffice....
