Interactive Visual
Environments
Visuals that specifically
tie into the thematic messaging of the event. |
This catalytic duo (Julee & Troy) are Audio / Visual event engineers that create Live Interactive Visual Environments in which they project evolving expression through their video compositions and the realtime surrounding spectacles. Psymbolic always aims to provide a customized thematic performance with synchronous moments of meaning and inspiration.
Psymbolic's theme orientated visuals are composed of customized video modules, in which they have been personally creating and producing by means of animation, compositing and programming since 99. During a live performance they use customized realtime visual software and hardware to synch video loops, camera inputs and effects to the mood of the momentous music. Traveling with a library of custom created content to choose from on the fly... All of which is categorized by genre / style / theme and programmed to multiple keyboards and midi controllers.

microtakeover is an exploration
thru the small vastness of life. An expression and indirect communication
that intends to let the viewer experience how ever many levels
of size and the causation that space defines.
microtakeover was conceptualized then created by means of animation,
compositing and programming. The video was then transferred to
KiloWatts to design the audio around then sent back to Psymbolic
to make final edits. This creation method flipped the usual creative
process and in our opinion, ultimately alters the viewing aesthetic.
Psymbolic usually approaches creating video to be synched realtime
to future audio and KiloWatts usually creates audio as a track
to be a part of an album and/or performed live at events.
There is a certain magick that happens to a viewer when they experience
video and audio truly in synch... nJoy//

Testimonials:
“I want to thank Psymbolic again for the outstanding efforts surrounding last week’s 40 North ACE Awards. Your video elements helped make this year’s ceremony a complete success and something that people around the community are still commenting on (the News-Gazette, in one of their two follow-up articles, praised the ‘glitzy’ production values at this year’s event). Given the larger venue and greater attendance (doubled from last year), we were especially pleased to offer such an effective means for making the audience more aware of the award ceremony’s sponsors, supporters and winners. Your excellent pre-production and live execution gave the ACE Awards a much greater impact for people attending the event, and we can’t thank you enough for your support. With your help, 2008 was the smoothest, most effective ACE Award presentation yet. Thanks again!”

“Psymbolic mixed a gorgeous canvas of imagery that played out beautifully in the space. I loved the montages of four images at at time. They were like master canvases. Combined with the lighting, the video canvases you created put guests into a rich landscape of color and a celebration of Chicago as a beautiful city. The space seemed to inspire people. I spoke with at least two individuals who have produced events in that ballroom who said they had never seen it look like that. I wish you could have seen the look in the eyes of the person I was talking with, who is the president of one of the leading destination management companies in the city. He was just in love with the room. You get the idea. I am still living in the painting, and it is beautiful. Thank you for your professionalism and aesthetic sensibilities. I am so glad you were available for this event! To many more!!!”

“Thanks Psymbolic & Mason for the awesome visuals @ the shpongle show. Simon's performance and the crowd and venue lacked so much luster, but you visual guru's made my 9 hour car ride for a 2 hour show, so worth it ;) bliss you!”
